2008 was a great year for our ponies at the local paper
chases. We also attended a few hunter shows. Here are some pictures of the fun times we had this past year.
Farnley Calypso carried Jacqueline to Reserve Champion in Shortest Stirrup at Ludwig's Corner Horse Show.
There were 25 entries in this division. We are very proud of him......but this is only the tip of the fun for us this
year.

At the beginning of the year Owen remembered how to stand
still for a bath. He remembered that he is an old pro at this type of thing. Mr. Skippy learned how to get on
the horse trailer the first time he's asked, no question, no hesitation, thanks to Chris Davison
during a visit to our farm.

around to see what's up.
Buffy likes to pose for photos.....with her new auburn fall.
Buffy
also competed in the August Shannondell Hunter Show. She did very well in Teeny Green and got two sixths with Christine
riding her......about 15 minutes after a terrible lightning and hail storm! Way to stay focused in the face of fear.
Hammie and Rocket (Fiddlemaker Steals Home and Fiddlemaker's Bottle Rocket) went south to get some basic training
toward driving. Here Hammie pulls a tarp and Roy the Boy rides Hammie. All had fun. Hammie went on to drive
for a month in August and will resume his training in 2009.

PAPER CHASES
We campaigned five ponies this year at the chases. Typically Sara rode Owen (halfbred Connemara), Jess rode
April (halfbred Welsh Cob D), I rode Mr. Skippy (halfbred Dartmoor), Judy rode Moosie (purebred Dartmoor) and Christine
rode Buffy (purebred Dartmoor). Jess rode Mr. Skippy while I rehabbed on April to regain my courage after getting bucked
off during the Allerton Mock Fox Hunt paper chase. In 2008 two or more of us participated in the following
paper chases: Sebastian Academy, Allerton Fourth of July, Allerton Mock Fox Hunt, Ludwig's Corner Riding and
Driving Club HorsePower For Life, PHA at St. Malachi's, Cheshire Pony Club at Brooklawn and Buck and Doe Run Pony Club.
Our pony team was very much in the ribbons despite over 250 entries at some of these events!! Below are pictures
of some of the chases......more to follow.

| THIS IS HOW WE FELT AT THE END OF THE 2008 SEASON! |
Thanks to all that helped to make 2008 a success.
We got many ponies going and had a bunch of fun. Looking forward to 2009 riding AND driving!!
